Peer support specialists have an important role to play on the health care team and bring lived experience and insight into their work connecting with people in treatment for opioid and stimulant use disorder. Medi-Cal reimbursement for Certified MediCal Peer Support Specialists (CMPSS) has brought more peer professionals into the treatment system in California. This 2-hour training will address the scope of practice for CMPSS, ethical standards, and special considerations and skills peers need when working across the health care system with people who use opioids and stimulants. Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Education (CME/CE) offered at NO COST. The registration link will direct you to the UCLA ISAP Learning Center. Your profile must include your degree, profession, and license number to claim continuing education credit corresponding to your licensure/certification.
