Indigenizing Knowledge Systems

The purpose of this Indigenizing Knowledge Systems presentation is to help learners understand the history of research, Western science, and its impact on Indigenous communities. The goal is to provide some context of how Western science has impacted the health of Tribal people and to provide some examples of how current Indigenous ways of knowing can be implemented into our work. Examples of Indigenous research will be provided for context.

The purpose of this one-hour web training is to provide physicians, nurses, and other health care providers an opportunity to 1) learn about medications for addiction treatment (MAT) as well as evidence-based practices in treating patients with OUD and 2) participate in case-based learning focused on medication-assisted treatment.

Join us as we review the legal requirements surrounding addiction care, including patients’ right to treatment, privacy protections, 42 CFR Part 2 compliance, urine toxicology screening, and managing immigration or law enforcement inquiries in the ED.

Youth Recovery Expo

The Youth Recovery Expo is a two-day event being held on Tuesday, Aug. 5 – Wednesday, Aug. 6 at UCLA's Carnesale Commons in Los Angeles. The Expo will bring together thought leaders and key stakeholders in the youth recovery movement to share best practices and programs that have been proven to improve outcomes for teens and young adults in recovery from substance use disorder and co-occurring conditions.
