This interactive and comprehensive three-part workshop series is designed for prescribers and office staff immersed in supporting patients utilizing medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD).

Learning Objectives Part I
Feb 2
– Describe the evidence-base for the treatment of opioid withdrawal
– Discuss the mechanism of action and when to use buprenorphine, methadone & naltrexone
– Describe initiation of buprenorphine during withdrawal, for the treatment of cravings and after overdose
– Contrast formulations of buprenorphine and naltrexone
– Explain strategies to transition from oral to long-acting agents and amongst agents

Learning Objectives Part II
Feb 9
– Discuss issues relevant to treating persons who are pregnant, parenting or breastfeeding
– Summarize key features when treating teens and elderly
– Describe the importance of and challenges with treating SUD in persons involved in the criminal justice system
– Describe evidence-based treatments for mental health issues, HIV, acute and chronic pain co-occurring with SUD

Learning Objectives Part III
Feb 16
– Describe the guidelines for low barrier care
– Explain at least two best practices for monitoring and discontinuing treatment
– Outline regulations for telehealth and treatment of substance use disorders
– Explain how medication groups can increase efficiency and access to care
