Tribal and Urban Indian Community-Defined Best Practices

Applications are due March 20, 2025, at 1 p.m. PST. The California Department of Health Care Services, in partnership with The Center at Sierra Health Foundation, announces the following RFA to solicit applications for the Tribal and Urban Indian Community-Defined Best Practices. This funding opportunity offers 24-month contracts for up to $300,000.

$5.25 million is available for tribal and urban Indian organizations to examine local cultural beliefs and traditional healing practices that could support substance use treatment and recovery services. Additionally, the purpose of this funding is to support organizations with integrating strength-based cultural practices that support cultural identity into substance use treatment and recovery services and implementing tribal and urban Indian community-defined best practices into substance use disorder services that specifically serve Native ​communities throughout California.
